ARTIST STATEMENT

Destiny Ca’Mel is a graphic designer and artist born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and is currently pursuing her BFA in Visual Communication Design with a minor in Entrepreneurial Studies.

Throughout her years of painting, Destiny has learned that what draws people to your work does not necessarily have to be based on what other people are doing, deem important, or seem aesthetically pleasing. Though, what can really draw people in is showing the viewer content that is important to you as an artist, and finding a way to make it important to the viewer as well. 

Over the past few years Destiny has won numerous scholarships as well as had her paintings held in the Louisville metro and Black History gallery in Louisville. Ms. Ca’Mel specializes in the Adobe Suite, as well as illustration and acrylic painting. Today, Destiny primarily focuses on combining her passion for design with her love for visual arts, and bringing light to topics that surround her life and community.
